Through the Prism Glass – Striking Vivid New Technique

This photo series is an exploration of a new photo technique using a Prism. The prism brings in light from two different angles, in two different color schemes, simultaneously. Controlling positioning of the images and evenly balancing the light is part of the challenge. The shadows of one image source allow the highlights of the other image to come through. What started out as a lockdown experimental project has become my most enjoyable photography method.

This photo technique creates combinations of everyday street scenes, in dazzling color, and offers a new way to explore and create locally while travel is limited. This photo series intends to connect and overlay two distinct subjects while drawing in the art and beauty of the local city neighborhoods. Analyzing which elements from each view show up in blended photo is part of the appeal.
